Triston Casas comes through in clutch as Red Sox beat Blue Jays 8-3

Published Fri, 21 Feb 2025 18:39:39 GMT

Triston Casas needed a game like this.Mired in a terrible slump to start the season and coming into the game 0 for his last 11, the rookie stepped to the plate three straight innings with a chance to either tie the game, put the Red Sox ahead or otherwise do serious damage. He delivered with back-to-back game-tying RBI singles and then crushed a fly ball to the warning track in the sixth that on a slightly less windy night would have been an easy grand slam.“That was one of my best swings of the season, honestly,” Casas said of the deep fly out. “Everything evens out, the baseball gods know everything and they got me that hit that last at bat. … I’m confident everything will even out and I’m just doing my best to swing at good pitches and barrel them up as often as possible.”Casas finished 3 for 5 with two RBI, helping power a somewhat odd but still decisive 8-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. With the win Boston has now won five straight an...

SAN DIEGO - Law enforcement throughout San Diego County joined together to pay their respects to fallen deputies, officers and agents. That reminder was symbolized by the empty chairs lined in front of the podium. One of them honoring Agent Daniel H. Salazar who died May 13, 2022, after he was fatally injured while conducting line watch operations, after his service vehicle rolled off a steep embankment adjacent to the international border. When asked about the legacy of Agent Salazar, one of his closest friends and colleagues Agent Dylan Robinson was at a loss for words. "I can’t even explain it. It’s a different kind of pain. He was my best friend...we were inseparable," Robinson said. The other person honored was State Par...
